Obituary for Marina Lynn Alegre

Marina Lynn Alegre, 61, of Chualar, passed away peacefully, at home, Thursday, August 10, 2017.

Marina was born to Isidore & Dorothy Cruz on December 15, 1955 in Salinas, California and had been a lifelong resident of Monterey County. She married in May of 1974 to Alejo Alegre. She was an amazing and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Marina greatly enjoyed caring for animals and spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her husband, Alejo Alegre of Chualar; children, Alejo (Sara) Alegre of Marina, Alethea (Gilbert) Almada of Phoenix, AZ, Anjelique (Clemente) Villarreal of Chualar, Salvador (Carmen) Alegre of Soledad, Serina (Rick Martinez) Alegre of Salinas, Regina Garcia; grandchildren, Alejo IV, Eduardo, Robert, Joel, Alethea, Christina, Gilbert III, Richard, Marina, Clemente, Josephine, Diego, Salvador Jr, Eli; great grandchildren, Farrah, Aimee, Alice, Anthony; siblings, Lucy Valencia, Isidor Cruz, Eddie Cruz, Joe Cruz, Manuel Cruz, Ruby Cruz, Dorothy Leyba, Samuel Cruz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isidore & Dorothy Cruz.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 4 pm at Woodyard Funeral Home, 395 East St, Soledad. Friends may visit two hours prior the service. Following services, cremation will take place and inurnment will commence at the Gonzales Cemetery at a later date.
